In 2022, Northern Ontario faced a critical moment as the region’s film and TV workforce was overstretched, struggling to keep up with the rapid growth in production activity. Recognizing the urgency, I spearheaded the Northern Ontario Workforce Assessment & Studio Infrastructure Report, a project designed to address these challenges and provide a roadmap for sustainable growth, advancing production capacity, and strengthening the industry’s long-term viability.
This initiative was more than a market analysis—it was a forward-thinking strategy aimed at empowering Northern Ontario’s cultural industries. By presenting complex data in an accessible format, the report has equipped stakeholders with the tools to strengthen production capacity, build career pathways, and position Northern Ontario as a leader in Canada’s film and TV landscape.
